An independent professional career, carried alongside my artistic practice — rooted in a family of builders, developers and plumbers.

My experience as a Chief Acquisition Officer and Chief Operating Officer informs my understanding of land acquisition, project development, operations, and the coordination required to bring built environments into existence.

Division B · Family Business

Vayghan International Plumbing (VIP)

Founded by Hossein Vayghan, Vayghan International Plumbing is our family’s plumbing business, with a multigenerational and international history. My father established his plumbing work internationally before I was born, and plumbing has been part of my life and family experience since childhood.

Plumbing is the water infrastructure every building depends on. From new construction to residential and commercial development, it is part of what makes the built environment function.

Water Is Life

A family of builders.

My relationship with construction began long before I understood it as an artistic language.

I come from generations of builders, developers, and people who understood that water could transform land, sustain communities, and make cities flourish.

My paternal family’s history includes the stewardship of water rights and the cultivation of land. My father, Hossein Vayghan, established his plumbing work internationally before I was born, carrying forward a family tradition of building, developing, and sustaining the places where people live.

Growing up within that world shaped how I understood materials, structures, systems, labor, and possibility.

I later studied Sculpture and New Genres at Otis College of Art and Design and World Arts and Cultures at UCLA. My artistic practice expanded through installation, performance, fashion, film, and research, but construction and development never stopped being part of my life.

I believe one of the most meaningful things art can become is someone’s home, someone’s workplace, or a place where life unfolds.

A building is never just a building.

It is an accumulation of human imagination, engineering, labor, materials, memory, and care.

And water is never just a utility. Water is life.
